Since leaving her hometown of Utica, New York in 2004, Anne Marie (she | they) has called several places across the country and globe "home."
Anne Marie graduated in September 2013 with a Masters degree in Applied Ecology from the Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal, focusing her dissertation on Science Communication and Education, through which she wrote and published her bilingual children's book, Mamã, porque sou uma ave?/Mommy, Why Am I a Bird? In 2020, she and her children's book were featured on Wyoming PBS's "Storytime with Wyoming Authors" series.
In 2019, her plays Miss Snicklefritz’ Murder Mystery and The Door, were blindly selected for The Wrights of Wyoming statewide play festival. The Door was selected for publication by The Progenitor Art & Literary Journal (2020). Her short play, Strangers, or Les Inconnus was published by Masque & Spectacle (2020), and her short play The Leaf Whisperer: A Work in Progress was selected as part of the 2020 Wrights of Wyoming play festival. In 2018, she was an inaugural recipient of the Marius P. Hanford IV Award presented by Riot Act Inc. for best new play.
An avid storyteller, she performed in and won several Cabin Fever Story Slams and was selected by The Moth to perform in a "Main Stage" event in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 2019.
She was selected as a 2020 and 2021 Brain Mill Press National Poetry Month Contest Editors’ Pick poet. She was selected to be part of the 2020-2021 Community Literature Initiative poetry publishing program through the Sims Library of Poetry and invited back as a faculty member for the 2021-2022 cohort. She was accepted into Passengers Journal's summer 2020 poetry workshop as well as the 2021 Room Magazine writing mentorship where she studied under Téa Mutonji. She studied under torrin a. greathouse through The Speakeasy Project, and studied under Natasha Sajé through ellipsis... literature and art, an entity of Westminster College.
She was the winner of the 2021 Crow House Press Poetry Competition. She earned the 2021 Peter K. Hixson Memorial award in poetry presented by Writer's Relief, the 2020 Milestone Award presented by Wyoming Writers, Inc., and the 2020 Rising Star Award presented by the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce. She was a 2021 Wyoming Woman of Influence nominee in the arts category. She earned a FY2022 Professional Development/Career Advancement Grant through the Wyoming Arts Council. She earned Honorable Mention in the Coastal Shelf 2021 FuPo Poetry Contest.

In May 2021, she completed her degree in English from Laramie County Community College.
She is a proud queer person navigating the world with a chronic illness.
