The Nightmare that is Delta Customer Service

Delta recently sent me an email telling me that they changed my flight so that I will arrive at MIDNIGHT on the night of my friend’s wedding instead of 5:00PM like I had originally purchased the ticket for.

Their email said:

“We also understand that your new itinerary may not be best suited for your travel needs and we have the following options to give you flexibility.

  1. If you prefer to change your trip from the itinerary listed below, please visit My Trips on delta.com and follow the step-by-step instructions here. We’ve recently made significant improvements to this experience to make it easier for you, but if for some reason you dont see a flight option that works, please message us for further assistance. For other assistance, you may also call us at 800–221–1212.”

Ok, so I follow the step-by-step instructions.

Step 1: Find your ticket number

Okay, got my ticket number.

“Step 2: Search for Your eCredit

Using your ticket number, you can search for your eCredit at delta.com/redeem. Enter your ticket number in the field called “Certificate or eCredit #” and click the “Look Up” button to begin your search.”

Okay.

Delta is garbage.

“We’re sorry, but the Certificate Number entered is either invalid, closed, or restricted from viewing via delta.com Please check the Certificate Number and try again”

Hm… the certificate number is definitely correct because I copied and pasted it from my confirmation email.

Okay so I go directly to Delta’s “Manage My Flights”

Delta is garbage again.

“Oh no! We’re sorry, but we are unable to process this request online.”

Why the fuck not, Delta?

Ok, so they can’t process my request online.

I’ll call the phone number they provided

Estimated wait time is FOUR HOURS AND TWENTY SEVEN MINUTES.

So I go to their website to file a complaint.

And their site won’t let me file the complaint.

Delta is garbage x 3.

“We’re sorry. An error has occurred and we were unable to submit your information. Please try again later or visit…. to reach us another way.”

I tried filling this form out five times.

So what am I supposed to do?

I originally book my flight to arrive somewhere at 5:00PM, my flight gets changed without being consulted to arrive at Midnight, and there is absolutely no way to change it. What the fuck is going on, Delta? Get your shit together, people!

So help me god, I will never use Delta again. Even if I have to pay hundreds of dollars more. I will not fly at all rather than use Delta again.
